It lurks in the frozen tundra of your freezer: food that’s been long forgotten. Perhaps there's year-old meatloaf, or that piece of wedding cake you stashed 5 months ago. It happens.
Well, now that old frozen food could help you win a new social media contest.
Wendy’s has just launched a sweepstakes aimed at getting you to unearth those frozen long lost treasures. It's even being powered by HelloWorld, a Southfield-based marketing agency.
The popular fast food chain is asking people to snap a photo of the oldest thing in their freezer and post it to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #FreezerDig and #Sweepstakes.
Wendy's will be giving away a year of free hamburgers to one winner every day during the sweepstakes period, according to a news release.
The event obviously has an angle -- it’s meant to promote the company’s fresh beef.
But, talk about a topic that everyone can relate to.

Photo submissions will be accepted now until November 20. Photos with brand names or logos will be disqualified.
A quick check of the newsroom freezer only yielded one questionable breakfast sandwich in a brown grocery bag.
