West Bloomfield parks begin reopening with safeguards to prevent spread of COVID-19

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — The parks in West Bloomfield began reopening Thursday, May 28 with safeguards in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

West Bloomfield Parks encourages the community to enjoy the parks while practicing social distancing and group gathering guidelines.

Amenities that are now open at the parks include:

• Park Restrooms
• FitTrac at Drake Sports Park
The following parks and amenities will reopen Saturday, May 30th at 8 am:
• Tennis Courts
• Pickleball Courts
• Skate Park
• Dog Park

Basketball courts, all playgrounds and shelters will remain closed at this time.

Rental of shelters at the parks will not be permitted until gathering of up to 100 are allowed by the state.

Maintenance Closures:
Marshbank Park will be closed until 11 am on Tuesdays and Drake Sports Park will be closed until 11 am on Thursdays so our staff can safely perform the needed maintenance for each park. This may change due to weather so check our homepage for updates before visiting during those time frames.
