Westland police looking for suspect who stole Cartier glasses right off victim's face

Westland police are looking to identify a suspect who stole glasses right off of a victim's face.

The suspect stole a pair of Cartier glasses valued at $2,600 on Nov. 4 at the BP gas station on Wayne Road. 

Police say the victim was waiting in line when the suspect grabbed the glasses off of his face and tried to leave the store.

A brief struggle ensued but the suspect was able to run to a vehicle that was parked in the lot. The struggle resulted in damage to gas station property and merchandise.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Police describe the suspect as a man approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing about 140 pounds. The suspect had short black hair which he wore in braids.
