(WXYZ) — Another round of "No Kings" protests is being scheduled around the country, set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 18.
According to a report in the Associated Press, the "No Kings" protests are being organized by the 50501 Movement, which, according to its website, stands for "50 protests. 50 states. One movement."

“They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services,” the group says on its website, referring to the Trump administration and its policies. “They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.”
“We protest because we love this country so much that want the best for it," said Dr. Izaria, an organizer of the Detroit "No Kings" protest.
The Detroit protest is set to take place at 3 p.m. at Roosevelt Park.
“We are hoping for about 7,000 or more people," Azaria said.

Across the country, there are nearly 2,000 protests planned, with more than a dozen in metro Detroit alone. Organizers say one of their core principles behind the protest is committing to nonviolent action.
Brian Szmytke, the senior advisor for Oakland County Republican Party, says there is no risk of President Donald Trump being a king.
"We have checks and balances in this country. We're blessed to live in the greatest country in the land and at the end of the day, Donald Trump is doing what he was elected to do," Szmytke said.

Szmytke added that he doesn't mind people exercising their right to protest, but he wants it to be non-violent.
“I think to have this a second time around, you know, it's just ginning up more anger, more resentment, more hatred and I'm really fearful for what's going to happen," Szmytke added.
Meanwhile, Azaria says organizers of the protests are striving for safe and peaceful demonstrations.
“We have very experienced marshals and safety operators in place, and they will be there to take care of everyone," Azaria said.
