ROCHESTER, Mich. (WXYZ) — A lot has changed over the last five decades in downtown Rochester, but there is one small restaurant that hasn't changed along with the family that owns it.

In 1969, Bill Lipuma had a simple idea for a restaurant – to serve hot dogs of all kinds in one place. You can grab anything from a New York coney to a Russian dog.

When the weather is right, Lipuma's can sell more than a 1,000 dogs in a day with a line going down the block.

"This little place is the size of a garage, but we slam the people through everyday," said Lipuma's son.

Lipuma's Coney Island is open seven days a week, and owner Bill Lipuma is often posted up at his favorite booth with a great story to tell.
