DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 55-year-old woman was killed Monday when she was hit by a truck while changing a tire with her husband on eastbound I-94 in Detroit.
The crash happened around 11:35 a.m.
Police say the husband and wife were on the right shoulder of eastbound I-94 near Barrett Avenue changing their car's flat tire. That's when the driver of a pickup truck traveling on the freeway tried avoiding a rear-end crash and couldn't stop.
