The rumors are circulating on the Internet that Brad Ausmus' days are numbered as the manager of the Detroit Tigers.
Detroit Tigers Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Al Avila released a statement that would neither confirm or deny the circulating reports.
Below is the statement:
"I have stated several times since becoming Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager that we are evaluating all personnel, and know that includes the players, the manager and his staff, and minor league operations. In fact, I reconfirmed with Mr. Ilitch and Manager Brad Ausmus this morning that these evaluations are on-going and decisions in any of these areas will be made by the end of the season."
The Detroit Tigers have struggled throughout the season. The MLB cites a combination of reasons for the losing season including bad roster moves, injuries and "under-performance" by key players.
No official decision has been announced.
