Woman, 71, charged in non-fatal shooting of her neighbor in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 71-year-old woman has been charged in the non-fatal shooting of her neighbor in Detroit.

According to a release, Andrea H. Williams, had an argument with her neighbor, a 69-year-old man, on July 18 just after noon in the 17400 block of Indiana.

The victim was cutting his lawn with the argument happened. It is alleged that Williams got a handgun at some point and shot the man in his foot. She also allegedly waived the gun and pointed it at another man and two women during the incident.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Williams faces charges of assault great bodily harm, three counts of felonious assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, and five counts of felony firearm.
