SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Shelby Township police performed what they are calling a "citizen's assist" Saturday morning at Clinton River.
Police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene around 11 a.m. to reports of a woman falling out of her kayak.
Witnesses say the woman was able to get to a log on the side of the river. She apparently had her cell phone and was able to direct crews to her exact location.
"Never duress, no medical. Never went underwater as far as we know," according to police.
The woman was rescued from the water and spoke to a 7 Action News photographer immediately after.
