OAKLAND COUNTY (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday evening.
Just before 6 p.m., dispatch received a call from a man who said, "I just killed my girlfriend" before hanging up.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 50-year-old man standing in the home's driveway. He told officers, "I shot her. I killed her," police said.
When officers entered the home, they found a 60-year-old woman lying on the floor dead with multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Police say it's the suspect's live-in girlfriend.
Officers also found a .380 semi-automatic handgun on a table in the basement.
The suspect was taken to the Oakland County Jail and is expected to be arraigned Friday or Saturday.
