(WXYZ) — A expecting mother was honored in a special ceremony by the Detroit Fire Department for saving a driver in trouble.
Unique Bost was recognized by the Detroit Fire Department Tuesday for her heroic actions.
She was driving along 8 Mile and Groesbeck in late January when she noticed something was wrong with another driver. She says a man in a nearby car sat through three light changes and never moved.
Bost then got out of her car and found that the man was unresponsive inside of the vehicle.
She began banging on the car's window and yelling for help. About 15 minutes later, another driver stopped and pulled out a hammer. Bost then pulled him out of the car and started performing CPR.
Detroit fire officials say the man had overdosed and that Bost saved his life.
