A judge sentenced a woman who drop-kicked a cake at a local Kroger to 300 hours of community service, telling her she needed some perspective.

Tricia Kortes will also be paying a $500 fine and seeing a therapist on a regular basis for her disorderly conduct.

Back in June, Kortes got upset about the decorating job on her son's birthday cake from the Kroger in Bloomfield Township. Witnesses say she drop-kicked it and swore before walking out of the store.

"I'm truly embarrassed by my conduct," Kortes said in court today.

Judge Kim Small called her actions a "temper tantrum" and said, "if I were shopping with a child, I'd be horrified."

Kortes has six months to complete her community service.

"If you violate the law again...I'm going to get your attention," said Judge Small at the sentencing today.
