INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A woman pepper sprayed another woman during a road rage incident in Independence Township.

The Oakland County Sheriff's office says the victim, a 34-year-old woman from Wixom, reported a female driver of a teal colored crossover held up a baseball bat while driving in front of her.

When both vehicles stopped at a red light, both women exited their vehicles and confronted each other.

Authorities say the driver from the crossover sprayed the victim with pepper spray or mace. The victim went back to her vehicle and was sprayed again through her open window.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment and was released.

The suspect is described as a woman with brown hair 35 to 50 years old, who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
