A woman refused to stop her car after troopers attempted a traffic stop in Inkster.

On Sunday around 11:30 p.m., troopers tried to stop a car on Beech Street and Spruce for defective equipment, but the driver refused to stop the car while disregarding their lights and siren.

Troopers pulled alongside the car and saw the woman talking on her cell phone. The driver then asked troopers if they would follow her to her uncle's house.

Police say troopers were able to get the car stopped, but the driver refused commands to exit the car and continued talking on the cell phone.

As troopers attempted to arrest her, police say she resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle with troopers. One trooper suffered a minor cut to his hand.

The driver was cited for Defective Equipment and Failure to yield to an Emergency Vehicle.
