Woman shot in the face multiple times at home in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a suspect who allegedly entered a home and shot a woman in the face multiple times before stealing a vehicle from the home.

The incident happened Sunday, April 7 at 2:45 a.m.

According to preliminary information gathered by police, an unknown male suspect went into a home in the 19000 block of Hartwell in Detroit and shot a woman in the face multiple times. The victim was between the ages of 45 and 50.

Family inside the home say they were awakened by the sound of gunshots, then they found the victim shot.

The family called 911, then noticed that a vehicle at the home was taken.

The vehicle is described as a 1998 gray Chrysler Concorde. It has Michigan plates: EAR-9741. The last six numbers of the VIN number is 225390.

A detailed description of the suspect is not currently available. This is an ongoing investigation. Police have not released information on the woman's condition.
