HAZEL PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 37-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Hazel Park early Friday, according to a release from the Hazel Park Police Department.
Hazel Park Police responded to a residence for a welfare check and found the victim to be deceased in what appeared to be a homicide. Prior to this, Center Line Police were called to a home after a woman contact them that her boyfriend was acting suspicious after being at the victim's residence in Hazel Park.
The suspect, a 36-year-old man from Hazel Park, was brought to the victim's home by the suspect's girlfriend and for a short period of time. Police say the suspect and victim have a "domestic relationship" and still lived together.
Police say the murder weapon was recovered at a nearby church.
The incident occurred on Hughes Avenue, across the street from Hazel Park High School.
