World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) legend Vader has died at the age of 63, WWE confirmed Wednesday morning.

Vader, whose real name is Leon White, joined WWE in 1996 and faced off against legendary superstars like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. He continued wrestling in several other circuits through 2016.

Other fans may know him for his recurring guest role on "Boy Meets World" as the father of Frankie Stecchino Jr.

Before joining WWE, Vader became a three-time WCW World Champion and also worked in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

In a statement on Vader's Twitter, his son posted that Vader died Monday night.

"Around a month ago my father was diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia. He fought extremely hard and clinically was making progress. Unfortunately, on Monday night his heart had enough and it was his time," the post read.
