REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Family members of 18-year-old Lysa Blake confirm to 7 Action News that Blake, along with 49-year-old family friend Dania Phillips, were shot and killed when an argument involving a family friend escalated in Redford Township Friday evening.
Redford Township Police Captain Al DiPrima confirms the suspect, who has not been identified, was killed by Detroit Police Saturday night in an officer-involved shooting in the 8000 block of Woodlawn in Detroit.
The double shooting in Redford Township inside a home on Mercedes Avenue just off Inkster Road. Michigan State Police and Redford Township Police were on scene.
The argument was reportedly over the use of an inhaler, according to police. The suspect is known to both victims.

Both female victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
"As a father, your first instinct is 'I need to get to my baby.' But then the next instinct that kicks in is rage," said Blake's father, Mitchell Blake Sr.
Mitchell Blake described the suspect, who he'd met once, as a grandfather figure of a family friend.
"You took out two good people," he said. "My baby graduated this year. My baby was going to college next month. My baby was turning 19 next month."
