HOWELL, Mich. (WXYZ) — It’s been almost one year since anyone has heard from Kevin Graves. The 29-year-old disappeared from a campsite at the Electric Forest Festival on the west side of the state with no trace left behind.

To this day, Graves' parents and friends continue looking for information about what happened.

Gary and Kathy Graves have no idea what happened to their son Kevin. Since he’s gone missing, they’ve received tips but nothing ever turned out. Now, both parents are heading back to the festival handing out fliers, hoping to get some information.

"We’re not going to let this die, we are not going to give up," Kathy said.

Kevin was an active young man who enjoyed music and life.

"Through the years... he was always honest and forward with us," Gary said.

He attended the Electric Forest Festival in 2018 in Rothbury, Michigan. Kevin's parents say he was looking forward to it.

"When he left he said he was looking forward to a good time, but I don't think he realized what kind of place it is," Kathy said.

It was on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Kevin suddenly disappeared from the festival, never to be seen again. His parents, law enforcement and countless volunteers searched for any trace of the 29-year-old, but didn’t find anything.

"The people call us from up there to see if we’ve heard anything," Gary said. "(They) tell us they’re still looking and wanting to know if we’re going to be up their this year."

Now, almost a year after Kevin vanished, his parents are going back to the festival to hand out fliers, hoping someone may have seen him or knows where he is.

"(We) Just hope that somebody will come up and say 'yeah, I saw him last year,' or whatever information they can give us," Gary said.

The four-day music festival draws in tens of thousands of people from all over. For the Graves family, they know it’s a long shot, but are hoping someone knows something about their missing son.

"We have good days and we have bad days, and as a mother I don’t know what to do," Kathy said. "I just want to know he’s OK, I want a hug from him."

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office, who are working the case, says there are no updates at this time.

The Electric Forest Festival kicks off Thursday. The Graves family says they will head to the festival Friday to start handing out fliers.
