Belle Isle's big race weekend is less than two months away.

Tonight the unofficial kick-off for the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix was held at Eastern Market.

Hundreds of volunteers gathered for a dinner, all to get ready for another year at the track.

Indycar driver Charlie Kimball was on hand to celebrate the night.

The grand prix already has 800 volunteers and they're looking for about 200 more.
