(WXYZ) — Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders was never able to make it a Super Bowl, mostly because he played for the Lions, who went 78-82 during Sanders' 10 years on the team.

The Lions did make the playoffs five times during his tenure, losing in the NFC Championship in 1991, the closest the team has come to a Super Bowl.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Sanders finally got to make an appearance, given, it was during a commercial.

The ad, titled "The 100-Year-Game," celebrated the NFL's 100th season gala with some of the best players today and in NFL history.

During the ad, Sanders picks up a ball and takes off, spinning and juking defenders like he did with the Lions. As he sends the ball away, the video cuts to Emmitt Smith who says, "Damn, B. Y'all know I have more yards than he do."

Take a look at the hilarious video below. Sanders shows up at the 51-second mark.
