DETROIT (WXYZ) -- As part of Central Michigan University Night at Friday's Tigers-Royals game, CMU head football coach John Bonamego threw out the first pitch.
"I'm ready," Bonamego told Brad Galli during a pregame interview. "My arm's not warmed up, but I'm always ready."
Bonamego added he was excited to see so much maroon and gold in the stadium.
"It's pretty cool. It's great to get out, get down to Detroit, great to be at (Comerica Park). We're excited to watch a good game."
The Detroit connection is especially important to Bonamego, whose team prominently features players from Michigan schools.
"Michigan is home base for us. We have the largest percentage of roster spots on our team of really anyone in college football. We're close to 80 percent of our roster are Michigan-grown kids, and a good portion of those are from Detroit."
