Detroit Tigers pitcher Francisco Rodriguez told ESPN during an interview before Tuesday night's game that he contracted the Zika virus over the offseason.

Rodriguez told ESPN that the virus laid him up for two weeks, but that it took him months after the symptoms went away for him to feel like himself.

The article does not address exactly when Rodriguez contracted the virus, or if the Tigers were notified about it before his contract was signed.

The Tigers acquired Rodriguez as a free agent in November.
