Anthony Lamb's career high leads Vermont past Eastern Michigan

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Freshman Anthony Lamb scored a career-high 26 points with eight rebounds and Vermont's defense forced two turnovers in the final minute to hold off Eastern Michigan 82-74 on Saturday.
   
The Catamounts (8-4) stretched a three-point halftime lead to 14 early in the second half but the Eagles tied it with less than 6 minutes to play. Lamb scored six straight for a 76-70 lead with 2:06 to play.
   
Jordan Nobles scored for the Eagles (6-4) but Drew Urquhart, in his first start, had a putback at 1:02 to make it 78-72. Nobles scored again but the Eagles had turnovers on their next two possessions while the Catamounts went 4 of 6 from the line. Nate Rohrer had one of the free throws, his first point of the season, after missing 11 games with an injury.
   
Ernie Duncan and Urquhart both had 14 points, a career best for Urquhart, for Vermont.
   
Willie Mangum IV scored 18 points and James Thompson IV had 13 and a career-high 21 rebounds for Eastern Michigan.
