ASHLAND, Ohio (WXYZ) -- Travis Tarnowski threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns, and Ashland used a 23-point third quarter to help put away Wayne State 36-25 on Saturday.
The Warriors (1-1) jumped out to a 12-0 first-quarter lead on a 37-yard Donovan Zezula touchdown pass to Jamel Hicks and a one-yard run by Demetrius Stinson (two-point conversion attempts failed on both scores.) However, the Eagles (2-0) proceeded to outscore Wayne State 29-6 over the next two quarters to go in front for good.
Stinson would add a second rushing touchdown in the third quarter, while Zezula threw his second touchdown pass of the game in the fourth quarter, this time to Manny Mendoza.
Wayne State hosts Lake Erie next Saturday, September 17.
