MIDLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Donovan Zezula threw three touchdown passes, two to Jamel Hicks, and Wayne State opened its season with a 28-3 victory at Northwood on Saturday.
Zezula's first touchdown pass to Hicks was a 75-yard strike on the game's opening drive. The two connected again later in the first quarter on a 49-yard score.
Romello Brown scored the Warriors' lone rushing touchdown from 10 yards out in the 3rd quarter.
Wayne State (1-0, 1-0 GLIAC) visits Ashland next Saturday, September 10.
