DETROIT (AP) -- Zavier Turner scored 32 points, including a tip shot with less than two minutes to play in double overtime that put his team on top for good, as Manhattan edged Detroit Mercy 84-81 on Saturday.
Zane Waterman -- who finished with 15 points -- sank a 3-pointer to give the Jaspers (2-3) an 81-78 lead with 3:24 to go in the second overtime. But Chris Jenkins responded with a 3 for the Titans (1-5) to tie it again, 81-81, leaving it to Turner to make the tipper to put Manhattan back on top, 83-81, with 1:57 remaining.
Manhattan took a 45-35 lead with 14:19 to play in regulation after the teams were tied 33-33 at the break. Detroit battled back to tie it up again, 65-65, on the first of two DeShawndre Black free throws with 14 seconds remaining. But he missed his second shot and the game went into overtime.
