ST. PAUL, Minn. (WXYZ) -- Michigan scored three unanswered third-period goals to rally past Minnesota, 5-3 in Saturday's championship game of the Big Ten hockey tournament.
Kyle Connor scored his 35th goal of the season early in the third to tie the game at 3-3. Zach Werenski tallied the game-winner on the power play with 4:33 remaining in regulation.
Tyler Motte scored two goals, including an empty-netter, to lead the Wolverines (23-7-5), who advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.
Connor, Werenski, JT Compher, and Steve Racine were named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team, and Connor earned Most Outstanding Player honors.
