DETROIT (WXYZ) -- After his team's MAC Championship win Friday night, P.J. Fleck saw only one natural next step: the Cotton Bowl.
"We are 13-0," Fleck emphatically stated during his post-game press conference, "We are the best Group of 5 team in the country."
The highest-ranked conference champion in the College Football Playoff rankings from the Group of 5 receives a spot in the Cotton Bowl this season. After Navy's loss to Temple in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, all signs seem to point to the Broncos.
Fleck said Friday he didn't plan to watch the game, but would have the Cotton Bowl on his mind.
"I'm gonna wear cotton shirts, I'm gonna have cotton slippers, I'm gonna have cotton earmuffs, I'm gonna have a cotton jacket. I'm gonna wear everything cotton from here on out."
The official Cotton Bowl announcement will be Sunday afternoon.
