Detroit basketball legend Tom 'Cookie' Marsh made a name for himself on the court at the University of Detroit.
Recently, a pickup basketball game led him to a new role in his life: writer.
Marsh and one of his pickup basketball pals, former University of Detroit baseball player and longtime high school teacher Tom Daniels, have co-authored a book.
Their goal is to open the eyes and ears of Detroiters about their similarities and differences. Marsh is black. Daniels is white. The authors are taking their book to communities to stir a conversation about coming together while learning from the past.
