Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In four games, Green had four goals and added two assists to lead the Red Wings in four straight wins.
Green also recorded his first career hat trick in the final home opener at Joe Louis Arena last Monday. It was the first hat trick by a Detroit defenseman since Nicklas Lidstrom in 2010.
He also added an assist in the win over the New York Rangers and Nashville Predators before being held off the scoresheet in the team's win against the San Jose Sharks.
