PHOENIX (AP) -- A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that free agent ace Zack Greinke and the Arizona Diamondbacks have reached agreement on a six-year contract.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Friday night because there hadn't been an official announcement.
The 19-game winner chose Arizona over the NL West rival Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. Greinke helped the Dodgers win their third straight division title this season, then opted out of his contract to become a free agent.
Fox first reported the deal.
