Defensive lineman Cassius Peat is transferring back to Michigan State after he originally left the program last spring, according to 247Sports.

Originally ranked as the No. 16 defensive end prospect according to Scout.com, Peat was with the Spartans and redshirted his freshman year in 2015.

Peat was also part of Michigan State's spring camp, according to 247Sports, but missed the spring game and then participated in the team's summer conditioning.

According to 247Sports, he asked and was granted a release from the team in the summer to return home to Arizona and take care of personal business. He played at Pima Community College in Arizona last year.

Despite committing to UCLA in September, Peat visited Michigan State in the winter and changed his mind, according to 247Sports.
