DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Several Lions players, including Haloti Ngata, Nevin Lawson, and Zach Zenner, joined a group of kids from Orchard Children's Services for a holiday shopping spree Tuesday night.

Each child selected to participate received a $150 Meijer gift card to buy gifts for family and friends, with a little help from the Lions players and their family members.

"It's all about giving and teaching them at a young age to provide and give for their friends," Barnes told Kacie Hollins. "It just shows them what other people go through to get their presents."

Orchard’s Children’s Services, which co-sponsored Tuesday's event with the Lions, is a non-profit organization that serves children who need foster care, adoption or families that need assistance for multiple reasons.
