ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- A day after releasing Jake Rudock, the Lions signed the former Michigan quarterback to their practice squad.
Rudock was among Detroit's final round of roster cuts Saturday to get the roster down to the league-mandated limit of 53 players. The Lions opted to keep Dan Orlovsky as Matthew Stafford's primary backup.
Rudock appeared in all four preseason games, completing 30 of 51 total passes for 333 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception.
The Lions also signed wide receivers T.J. Jones and Jace Billingsley, defensive backs Alex Carter and Charles Washington, tight end Brian Leonhardt, guard Brandon Thomas, and running back George Winn to the practice squad.
In addition, Detroit signed linebacker Thurston Armbrister off waivers, and placed linebacker Josh Bynes on the reserve/injured list.
