ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- One day after the departure of Curtis Modkins, the Lions are expected to hire David Walker as their new running backs coach.
The move was first reported by Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.

Initially hired by Jim Caldwell in 2011, Walker spent four seasons in Indianapolis. Prior to the NFL, Walker spent a total of 16 seasons as a running backs coach for Syracuse and Pittsburgh.
It was reported Friday that Modkins had been hired as the 49ers' new offensive coordinator.
