Grosse Pointe swimmer Jacob Montague's baseball injury creates Olympic dreams in pool

Posted
GROSSE POINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Jacob Montague grew up playing baseball, tennis, and swimming. His passion for the pool ended by the time he hit middle school.

But a lot changed in the years that followed.

The Grosse Pointe native found himself scrambling for an athletic passion when he suffered a knee injury early in high school. His baseball career was over.

He found swimming again, and created an incredible mark in competitions across the country.

After qualifying to swim at this summer's Olympic trials, Jacob was asked to join Team USA at Hawaii's World Championships next month.
