The Red Wings have hired former Minnesota Wild interim head coach John Torchetti to complete their coaching staff.
Torchetti will be in charge of forwards and the power play -- an area that was inconsistent at times last season.
After being named interim head coach by the Wild in February, the team let Torchetti go Wednesday.
Torchetti joins head coach Jeff Blashill and assistant Doug Houda, who was hired by the team last month to take charge or the penalty kill and the defenseman.
