Jonathan Ericsson is going to miss the next 6-8 weeks with a fractured wrist.
He left the Red Wings game against the Capitals during the first period on Thursday night, after getting slammed into the boards by Nicklas Backstrom.
Backstrom was charged with a minor penalty on the play.
