The Red Wings and Maple Leafs will face off outdoors in a rematch of the 2014 Winter Classic, this time in Canada.
The 2017 Winter Classic will take place on Sunday, January 1 at BMO Field in Toronto. The game is being dubbed the Centennial Classic.
The rematch had been rumored for months, because next season will be the 100th year of NHL hockey.
The last time the two teams met outdoors, they played in front of a record crowd of 105,491. The Maple Leafs won in a shootout.
