The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Tomas Nosek and defenseman Brian Lashoff from the Grand Rapids Griffins as the team continues to deal with injuries.

In subsequent moves, they have moved Andreas Athanasiou to long-term injured reserve from seven-day injured reserve, and placed Justin Abdelkader on seven-day injured reserve.

Abdelkader is expected to be out 2-4 weeks with a sprained MCL, according to the team. He suffered the injury in Thursday's loss to the Florida Panthers. Athanasiou was placed on IR on Nov. 11 with a knee sprain.

Nosek, 24, has two goals and eight assists in 11 games this season while Lashoff, 26, has one goal and two assists in 18 games.

The Red Wings are down four forwards, two defensemen and a goaltender after injuries over the past few weeks.

Tyler Bertuzzi has a high ankle sprain and Darren Helm dislocated his shoulder last weekend. Alexey Marchenko has an injured AC joint and Brendan Smith has an MCL sprain, while Jimmy Howard has a groin injury.
