When free agency opens, the Red Wings will be like most teams: looking at a market mostly made up of veterans past their prime.
Trevor Daley is 33 years old and a 13-year NHL veteran, but he's considered the Red Wings top target before Saturday. The Athletic Detroit's Craig Custance joined WXYZ's Brad Galli for a Facebook Live conversation on Friday and said he expects a deal to be done as soon as free agency opens at noon.
The defenseman won two Stanley Cups with the Penguins, and is a guy who could eat up minutes for the Red Wings.
