DETROIT (WXYZ) -- According to a report from ESPN's John Buccigross, Wisconsin will hire Red Wings assistant coach Tony Granato as its new head coach this week.
Buccigross tweeted the report Sunday morning.
Multiple sources tell me Tony Granato will be the next Head Hockey Coach at Wisconsin. Brother Donny will likely join him on staff.

Granato is in his second season as a Red Wings assistant coach, joining the team on July 15, 2014. Granato spent the previous 11 seasons in various coaching roles with the Avalanche, Penguins, and 2014 U.S. Olympic team.
Granato played college hockey at Wisconsin from 1983-1987, tallying 220 points (100 G, 120 A) in 152 games.
