Dylan Larkin is fast.

Now, he's officially the fastest.

The Red Wings rookie set a new record during the All-Star Game's Fastest Skater competition on Saturday night.

Hall of Famer Mike Gartner held the record for 20 years. Larkin is 19 years old.

Larkin skated the fastest of the Eastern and Western competitors, granting him the opportunity to skate a lap around the ice to break Gartner's record of 13.386 seconds.

The Red Wings forward breezed around the ice in 13.172 seconds. He broke the record, despite a stumble on one of his final turns.

Larkin is the lone Red Wings player at the NHL All-Star Game, becoming the first Detroit rookie to be selected since Steve Yzerman.
