TORONTO (AP) -- Sidney Crosby and five former Canadian hockey greats are being immortalized on their own postage stamps.
Canada Post unveiled the fourth issue in its five-year NHL stamp series Friday at the Hockey Hall of Fame. The series also features Hall of Famers Phil Esposito, Guy Lafleur, Darryl Sittler, Mark Messier and Steve Yzerman.
Crosby captained the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Stanley Cup title last season and has helped lead Canada to the World Cup of Hockey semifinals against Russia.
"This talented group of star forwards has contributed to our national story beyond the goals they've scored and the trophies they've won," Canada Post President and CEO Deepak Chopra said. "They are heroes for what they stand for. They are men of honor and character and represent the best of who we are as Canadians."
