Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander's MRI on his right groin came back clean with "no structural damage," the team announced on Monday.
According to the team, Verlander will be reevaluated throughout the week but they have yet to determine when he will start next.
Verlander left Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the third inning with tightness in his right groin.
He threw 66 pitches before he was taken out.
Head Athletic Trainer Kevin Rand checked Verlander in the second inning and again in the third after he gave up a lead-off home run and walked the next batter on four pitches.
It was his shortest start since he went one inning on Aug. 11, 2014 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He was started 12 games for Detroit this season, with a 4.63 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.
