WATCH: Double-OT buzzer-beater finish at boys basketball state semifinals

Posted

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) -- Powers North Central's 81-game win streak appeared to be in jeopardy late in double overtime Thursday night.

Southfield Christian's Brock Washington had given his team an 83-82 lead on a three-pointer with less than ten seconds remaining.

But on the ensuing possession, Harlond Beverly found Seth Polfus on the baseline, who faked out a pair of defenders and got the layup to fall just ahead of the buzzer, giving the Jets an 84-83 win in the Class D semifinals at the Breslin Center.

After the game, the MHSAA posted on Twitter that the game was "one of the best we've ever watched."

Powers North Central will attempt to win its third consecutive state championship Saturday when it faces Buckley in the Class D final.
