Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The junior quarterback threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns in the Wolverines' 51-14 win over UCF Saturday afternoon.
He also completed 25 of 37 passes with no interceptions in his first 300-yard passing game.
According to the conference, Speight is only the second quarterback in school history to throw seven touchdown passes thorough the first two games of the season.
In his first game of the season against Hawaii, Speight was 10 for 13 for 145 yards and three touchdowns.
He is the first Michigan player to be named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week since Jake Rudock and Jehu Chesson shared the honor in November of last year.
