ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) — International soccer may return to The Big House this summer despite the International Champions Cup not coming to Michigan.

According to Spanish paper Sport, Barcelona and Messi will play against Italy's Napoli on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Michigan Stadium.

In a request to the University of Michigan Board of Regents, Relevent Sports and Sodexo Management are seeking to get a Class-C liquor license for the event.

"The university and Relevent Sports are in the process of finalizing the venue license agreement under which Relevent Sport will be permitted to use Michigan Stadium to hold a game o the La Liga-Serie A soccer series on Saturday, Aug. 10," the request reads.

This would be the fourth international match at The Big House. Last yaer, Liverpool beat Manchester United in front of 101,254 people. In 2016, Real Madrid took on Chelsea in front of 105,826 and in 2014, Real Madrid took on Manchester United in front of 109,318 fans.

Barcelona would bring arguably the best player in the world right now, Lionel Messi, with them, if they played at Michigan Stadium.
