Jim Harbaugh knows he isn't breaking any rules with his plans to take his Michigan football team to Florida for spring practices.
That's not stopping people from criticizing him.
NCAA President Mark Emmert was the latest to weigh in, according to The State.
“There’s a difference between not being prohibited and being OK,” Emmert said.
Harbaugh is taking his team to Florida's IMG Academy for spring practices. The first workout will be on Feb. 29, Michigan announced on Friday.
The Wolverines head coach is speaking up in defense of his plans.
"Talented Magicians are masters of deception, they divert attention w/ 1 hand to conceal & deceive w/ the other hand," he tweeted earlier this week.
The jab is pointed at the SEC and ACC, whose leaders have poked at the trip.
Harbaugh didn't stop there. He turned to Twitter again Friday night, after Emmert's comments went viral.
There R B-Ball teams & other NCAA teams that spend summer breaks traveling to countries around the world for team bonding & team development

It's an amazing opportunity for the S.A. - ACC teams may have experienced such trips. How is football traveling to Bradenton so different?

He has a pretty valid point. Basketball teams have been taking trips overseas for years now, using the idea of them as an annual adventure to sell recruits.
And you know he's not that far out of bounds when one of his biggest rivals comments the way he did.
Last week, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio called the trip, 'creative.' He even said he would consider taking an off-site trip for spring practices.
Harbaugh also announced the spring season will culminate with the annual spring game on April 1. And of course, there's a wrinkle.
It will be Michigan's first spring game played at night.
